Who invented M&M ?
Did you know that this was one of the most frequently asked questions? Well the answer is in 1941, Forrest E. Mars, Sr. established the M&M Limited company and introduced the M&M’S Plain Chocolate Candies to the market.
M&M’S Peanut Chocolate Candies were introduced much later in 1954. M&M milestones include being the first candy in space as it was chosen by the astronauts in 1980’s.
Nowadays they are offering customers to choose their own designs.
It is really no big deal, so do not wait and go for it. Here are the tips to keep in mind:
- Take the butter out of the fridge for at least 15 minutes before starting to make the cookies.
- Preheat the oven once you have gathered all the ingredients on your worktop.
- First, add 3/4’th of the flour and add the rest gradually and if needed. Your aim is to obtain a non-sticky but soft dough.
- You can use your hands, a spatula or a stand mixer. To make less mess and have more control over the dough I use my hands.
- Keep an eye on the cookies after 20 minutes in the oven. Mine were ready in 30 minutes, yours might be ready sooner.
- 100 grams of M&M’s will be enough. For the ones you add to the dough cutting them into half might be an idea, but I used them as they are. Make sure each cookie has 1 or 2 M&M’s in it and 1 or 2 on top.
No need to rest them once out of the oven, it will be hard to wait anyway. Enjoy.
