This is so easy to prepare and yet so delicious. Whenever I cook this it is finished so quickly, no left overs at all.
As couscous is sold next to pasta one might go ahead and cook it like a spagetti, next time try my way and you’ll notice a huge difference.
I have to open a paranthesis and say – once again- few words about the word couscous. I know that for many it is something else. In Turkey couscous is a tiny pasta type and not semolina or bulgur.
Serve as a side dish. Serve warm and enjoy.
By the way the background of the top picture is a box that I have done with sticking and painting napkins, could not keep myself from telling.

Ingredients
- 1 cup kuskus pasta
- 1½ cup hot water
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 chicken boullion optional
- ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Add the olive oil and butter to a non-sticky pot. Melt.
- Add the couscous. Mix for a minute.
- Add the chicken boullion. If chicken stock is available replace equal amount of water and leave out the chicken boullion. Alternatively just use plain water.
- Mix and make sure the boullion -if you are using it - is well dissolved.
- Add hot water. The ratio is 1 couscous to 1½ water. You can use a glass or a cup, the ratio should be the same.
- Cook over high heat until the water comes to boil. Then reduce the heat. Mix once or twice to make sure the couscous does not stick on the bottom of the pot.
- Cook until the couscous is ready to eat. Should take about 10 minuters. Test one, if still hard in the middle and the water is totally absorbed add a few tablespoons of hot water, and cook for a short while more.
