Easy Milk And Eggs Toast

Sharing is caring!

Jump to Recipe

Turkish breakfasts are popular with variety and abundance. I would like to share a family recipe: Fried Bread with Eggs. It involves frying so it is not something I prepare often; however when I put it on the table it quickly disappears. I could barely hide two pieces to take a photo.

It has only few ingredients. If you do not want to eat it at breakfast, you can have them tea time or prepare for kid’s snack. You just whisk the eggs and milk with a pinch of salt. I do my frying with olive oil. Fry only 2-3 pieces at a time. Fry until golden brownish on all sides. Stale bread works best, which is also a good thing.

You should serve while still warm. Goes perfectly well with a slice of cheese and some jam or honey; not to forget a cup of Turkish tea or a glass of milk.

Have a lovely day with a full tummy.

  • 50 millilitres milk
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  • Break and whisk the eggs in a rectangular, deep plate/pot.
  • Add the milk and the salt and whisk again until well blended.
  • Add enough frying oil to cover the bottom of a middle sized skillet. Heat the oil.
  • Cut 2 centimetre thick bread slices.
  • Dip each slice one by one on all sides to the eggy mixture.
  • Then immediately put in the skillet to fry.
  • Fry 2-3 slices at a time.

  • Serve while still warm.
  • Goes perfect with a slice of cheese and some jam or honey. Enjoy.
